Forman Family Collection
The Forman Family Collection is comprised of modern and contemporary works of art by a diverse group of artists with a focus on women and artists of color, and includes paintings, sculpture, photography, video and more. Collectors Michael Forman and Jennifer Rice frequently lend works to museum shows, gallery retrospectives and academic institutions, as they believe art is meant to be shared and appreciated and, more importantly, it is meant to inform and shift perspectives.
Since founding FS Investments in 2007, Michael Forman’s belief in creating a workplace environment that fosters creativity and collaboration has led him to share works from his family’s collection throughout FS office locations including New York City; Kansas City, Missouri and Orlando, Florida. Michael also leads arts education programming for his FS Investments colleagues. Additionally, the firm supports various arts organizations such as The Barnes Foundation, Mural Arts and Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
Michael and Jennifer are supporters of the arts and culture in Philadelphia. Jennifer serves on the Board of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Michael formerly served on the corporate leadership Board of the Barnes Foundation and on the Board of the Franklin Institute. Together, Michael and Jennifer founded the Forman Arts Initiative (FAI). In 2021, they launched Art Works, a $3 million FAI grant program in partnership with the Philadelphia Foundation. Art Works is designed to support community-based arts and cultural organizations, and emerging artists working in partnership with BIPOC and other underserved communities in Philadelphia.
